Yamaha is not known for poor built quality, from any of their factories.Ģ. Wherever they make it, it’s going to be made up to standard. We’re talking about a major company like Yamaha, and we’re talking about one of their premier products. It’s 2023 many of the views about certain countries being better than others at production are antiquated, incorrect, and/or referring to cheap, inexpensive, generic products. I’m not sure it matters what country it’s made in. So if they do opt to give an MP12 equal action/sound engine to the CA701, I expect that the release date of the MP12 would be several years after the CA701/CA901, such that, everyone who was going to upgrade to the top cabinet models has already done so.ġ. I think again this is to do with keeping the market segments separated: they don't want CA701/CA901 buyers opting for a replacement MP11SE (MP12) that has the exact same spec on sound engine and action. The MP11SE doesn't even track with the top digital (CA701/CA901) but instead tracks to:Įrgo, slabs aren't really designed to match top digital instruments with top actions. They are essentially entangled with the intermediate model cabinet models: I think if you're wanting the best action in a slab, you're buying with a different USP in mind than the design philosophy of a portable piano. If a metal or plastic piece has the same shape and same weight as a wooden piece, then they would behave the same. What matters is the shape and the weight of the mechanical pieces used in a digital piano action. TOP quality wooden keys should at this point be a MANDATORY requirement from here on out for these companies.Anything without them by now in 2023 are toys. Not sure about this. The 525 seems like a good upgrade especially in the keys but I really feel right now that the OTHER company in Japan is surpassing it and when Kawai comes out with replacements for the 7 and 11 SE and the 920.and with the last couple of decades of successes on the acoustic side.I never thought I would say this years ago, but I look to them before Yamaha now. TOP quality wooden keys should at this point be a MANDATORY requirement from here on out for these companies.Anything without them by now in 2023 are toys. No one has ever complained to me even one time that all they hear from me is piano playing. I have zero desire for them and will never use them. ![]() I can not even tell you on my keyboards how to access them. ![]() I am VEHEMENTLY against using the drum backgrounds.I believe if you are going to play somewhere and you use them to play along with then hey why not just let the machine play the piano parts too? I bring it up with THIS keyboard because in the little 2 and a half minute ad the created for the 525, it has such a prominent role. Where is the P525 being made? Is it being made in China like the others? Second point and I know there will be many who disagree with me but I have believed this for years.
